Of course you can.  You are more than welcome to call, email, and text, whatever!  I will happily provide information about how your pet is doing.  I want you to be able to relax while you are away – if checking in on your pets will do it, by all means. Email updates and notes are sent automatically to you when I complete each scheduled visit.

Absolutely!  I offer key retention.  This service is great especially for those that travel a lot for work (or for pleasure) and get called up at the last minute.  Key retention allows for you to leave and not have to worry about making arrangements to get your key to me for service.  I also offer “Lock Box” service.  This service allows you to control your key at all times using a realtor style lock box on or near your front door. 

While garage door and front door codes are great and are very convenient, I do require that a house key be provided as well.  Many garage doors do not function during power outages (and they do occur) so this is why I require keys also. I will use garage doors, or alternate doors if requested, but I want to have a key in case of an emergency.

Critter Capers Pet Sitting accepts just about any form of payment; cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diner’s Club. As a reminder, all payments for services are required prior to departure.

Yes.  I have many years of experience with special needs pets.  Special needs pets are one of my strengths.  My visits are customized to meet the needs of all your pets no matter what breed, size, temperament, age and needs.

Vaccinations are an important part of caring for your pet.  While I do not REQUIRE the same level of vaccinations as a boarding facility would, I do require that pets are current (with proof) on all Federal, State and Locally required vaccines.  Copies of current vaccines certificates will need to be provided along with the Contract for Services. This information can be provided at the in-home consultation. Services will NOT be started until this documentation is provided.

Yes, currently, I do not use any Independent Contractors nor do I have employees. I enjoy being the one that goes out and cares for the animals.

Yes, I would not allow you to do business with me if I wasn’t. This is one of the most important things a good business owner can do.

A standard pet sitting visit includes everything that your pet may need – love, walk, food, fresh water, love, attention, play time, medications (if applicable), love, companionship and love – did I mention love! All pets left in my care are treated like my own!  I will not leave until all of their needs are met. You can see a “25 Point Checklist” here.

The “Regular Pet Sitting Visit” is 25-30 minutes long.  I do have options available for longer visits. Please check the services page for more details.

There are several ways you can make a reservation. You can call me, email me, text me, or fill out the contact form on the “Contact Us” page.  I will always confirm scheduled reservations – if you don’t hear from me at least 48 hours prior to your departure, I don’t have you on the schedule.  If you are an existing client, you need to be set up in the Client Management System so that you can make your reservations there.  Contact me for your login information.

Critter Capers will care for just about any pet you have. I have cared for dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, horses, chickens, pocket pets (hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc…) and even the occasional wild animal…

At each visit, I will complete a “Pet Care Journal”. This “Pet Care Journal” will let you know all of the important details of the visit… (time of visit, date of visit, what was done at each visit, etc…) When you arrive home, you will see the “Pet Care Journal”, a note from me detailing what went on while you were away, the trash will be emptied, your pet will be well taken care of and very excited to see you.

An in-home consultation is a great time to sit down and meet each other. This is the opportunity prior to your departure that we can sit down, discuss the care requirements of your pets and any special needs that they may have. It is a time where we can get to know each other and I can set you at ease that your pets and your home will be well taken care of while you are away. All paperwork can be completed at this visit, keys can be obtained and any last minute questions can be answered.

While most of the time last minute notice is not a problem, I do ask that a minimum of 48 hours be given so that I can ensure that your pet’s schedule can be accommodated.

Pet owners know that most pets adjust better to their owner’s absence and have less anxiety and stress when they can remain in their own environments. Pet sitters make this possible. In addition to being able to sleep where they are most comfortable, they receive play time, meals on time, medication if and when needed. They also get some TLC and always know who is going to come and take care of them.
Pet sitters also provide basic home services as well. We make sure your home is secure, we water your plants, collect your mail and newspapers and ensure that all is safe and well at your home; providing some much needed peace of mind while you are away.
